2012 New Years Yew
« on: January 01, 2012, 05:05:23 pm »
This is a bow that I started in Montana because I was missing my home state of Oregon. It is Pacific Yew. Nock to nock it is 62 inches. The growth rings are 62 growth rings an inch. It is a half an inch at the tips, inch and a half at the fade outs. It has 6 inches of brace heigth and is 60lbs at 25 inches. The tips are covered in Cherry Bark and the handle is wrapped in Cherry Bark. I got a few wrinkles in the handle but that is ok by me because I really like the Cherry Bark for a handle. It is backed with Rattle Snake skin from Central Oregon.  Thanks for looking.

Very nice bow and the cherry bark accents are cool.

Very nice.  Do you have any pics of the entire back?  I always enjoy seeing a good rattler skin.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Wow that is some sweet looking yew John. You really nailed the tiller on that one and I love how you did the tips. When are you going to get over here for another play day? Lulyn, Wade and I have been revamping the shop, so when you come over we will have more space to mess up >:D

Nice job on that John. I really like the cherry bark tips and grip.   You did the yew justice.

That looks real nice blacktail! I sure do like the looks of a yew riser with the rings feathering out. Awesome bow.

Turned out beautiful blacktail!! Nice work. I've never messed with cherry bark, but have been wanting to for a while. Is it hard to work with?

Gorgeous.
