Jatoba Longbow tiller help???
« on: August 14, 2007, 12:14:55 pm »
Guys.....this is my third bow (#2 is on the shelf for now with a twisted limb). :'(
I wonder if you guys could comment on the tiller of this one for me.....one limb I think is still stiff in the outer third, but I can't tell from the pics.

Hickory backed Jatoba (Braz. cherry) 66" ntn - 50lbs at 24"....1.25" from fade to midlimb tapered to 1/2" tips...I shot it some to break her in ....I still need to refine the draw and weight to 50-55lbs at 27".
She seems to shoot OK so far too! Rider isn't finished of course. Didn't want to waste time and effort on that if the limbs weren't working for me.  :-\

Shot off the knuckle at 24", I managed to hit Bambi's heart at 20 yds. 8)

All comments welcome....I need the help.
BTW, it takes 1.5-2" set after unstringing, but relaxes to 1".

It looks great from what I can see.  But to be honest, I cant see the tiller at all in that picture.  Justin
Everything happens for a reason, sometimes the reason is you made a bad decision.

Yeah, I know they're not the best....I don't have any pics of it on the tree yet! When I get back to it, I'll try and get some.

looks pretty darn good to me, but yes, the old problem of the angled bow: looks like too much bend in lower limb and no bend at all in upper midlimb!

A pic of the bow on a tillering stick or tree would help greatly!
