Arm Guard Christmas Present
« on: December 30, 2011, 12:56:31 am »
An acquaintance of mine has spent some time hunting with Cody Robbins this past fall, and wanted a gift for him to show his appreciation for taking him along.  For those who don't know, Cody has a hunting show called Live 2 Hunt.  I've never seen it, only because I don't get Wild TV, but I've heard only good things about it.  Cody started his career as a hunting guide, and gained some attention when he was asked to guide and film for none other than Jim Shockey.  They must have hit it off, because Cody has been Jim's cameraman ever since.

Anyway, my buddy said he was working on getting Cody into shooting stick bows, and he figured that he would appreciate an armguard with some custom tooling with the logo from his TV show.  This is what I came up with.  It wasn't until after I gave it to him that I realized I forgot to take pictures of it finished, but here's a pic of it nearly done.

I haven't heard back from my buddy yet.  It's not my best work because I was pretty rushed, but I hope Cody liked it.

That looks great!  You've really got the hang of leather working.

Hey, Cam... back from Cuba? Bet it was sweet!

I've seen this armguard in real life, fully finished, and I can say... it's amazing. The pictures don't do it justice... it is truly a work of art. Your leather working skills are top shelf!
