i like the swedish push knife as well. Just rip of the handles and put vertical handles on and and you're good to go. I also like thetraditionalwoodworker for tools.
There is a downside to that approach,the swedish pushknife is grinded on both sides so it tends to bite deep when it takes hold.
That said,its a good tool that just need some getting used to.
