hickory cambium question.....

  I just got done taking the bark off of a hickory stave and lightly scraped/sanded some of the cambium off.  I was thinking of leaving some of this on for a camo effect.  I was wondering how much I should sand the cambium down and still keep that camo like pattern, should I just sand it down until the "stringy" appearance goes away?  any suggestions?

I leave it on on some and take it all off on others. Purely cosmeticfrom my perspective. It does have a nice pattern too it, especially if you use any dyes. Good luck!

I sand it until I can close my eyes and run my fingers over it without feeling ANY difference. I figure if I cant feel it, it wont peel up later! Im sure there are better ways of knowing when enough is enough.

Hey Guy you can be anything you want on the internet, mom said so! Plus I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night and the night before!
