OK some more details and pics. This yew was harvested in Ohio - yes Ohio! - from an old nursery that was being cleared for construction. Yew is a common landscape planting bush and when it drops seeds they revert to tree form. 4" trunk split into quarters on the band saw.
There was some propeller twist which I partially removed with dry heat. Some remains but I ignored it and set the nocks in alignment.
Sap wood was a nice 1/4 to 5/16 so I left it and some of the character under the bark.
Not much for making horn nocks, so I get them from Terry. I do some reshaping and added the stringer nock on the top tip.
