My first bow just arrived!
« on: December 10, 2011, 01:54:55 pm »
Arrived at 7:40am apparently.  I will have to post some pics here soon.  I am debating on if I want to attempt to pretty it up some or not.

Any tips on what the best method of oiling the bow is?  As in should I get bow oil or is there another thing I can use?

Ah and the arrows I have are meant for traditional bows and are carbon. They take slip-in points and I have the adapter for screw in points. Didn't know if I should glue the adapter in or if it fitting snugly is okay.

iv never heard of carbon arrows taking tapered points or knocks.  but you have to glue anything tapered.  if the knocks are push in type then no glue needed for those.

also if your carbon arrows take the push in inserts for screw in head then you need to glue those also.

Any pics of your new bow?  Without a better description it will be difficult to help you out.

This is the bow.  It is red oak backed with linen. What would be the best way to oil this?
