Rudder Bows is very close. Closer the better for boo in my book. Shipping can be a bear.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Be careful with Rudder Bows... sometimes his customer service is not very good. I'd try David Knight at Primal Need Archery... he'll treat you right and fair. I know he has excellent bamboo backings... all ready to glue up.

I just received a batch of bamboo slats from Frank's Cane and Rush. They look pretty good.

I've been ordering from rudder bows for years now, never once had any issues.

I bought 2 different bundles of 25 planks from Frank's. The first was absolutely gorgeous stuff but every bow I made from it suffered a bamboo failure. I spent 6 months replacing bows that failed, used local bamboo on the replacements, no failures.

Tried another bundle from Frank's, this bundle arrived waterlogged with every plank moldy. threw it all away. No more bamboo from Frank's for me.

On the bows that failed I did scrape all the rind off which may have contributed to the failures. I have done the same on local bamboo with only a couple failures in 30 or so bows.

bhenders I edited your post, no links except paying advertisers.

I get mine from Franks also.
BTW Im in Utah also, where are you located? Probably Ogden because that is about as far away as you could get and still be in the same state.  :o

Everything happens for a reason, sometimes the reason is you made a bad decision.

Justin, I live in Orem, have for quite some time. I knew some Snyders when I was kid. Cory and Brian, don't know if you know them, that was probably 35 years ago.
