 SECOND ANNUAL SILVER RIVER KNAP-IN
MARCH 2-4, 2012
SILVER RIVER STATE PARK, OCALA, FLORIDA
Don’t miss the Silver River Knap-In at the beautiful Silver River State Park.  Expert flint knappers, archaeologists, potters, hide tanners, bow makers and other specialists in prehistoric skills gather from across the eastern U.S. to knap and demonstrate.  Friday is a student day and Saturday and Sunday are public days.
This knap-in includes archery, tomahawk and atlatl dart throwing lessons each day.  Presentations exploring the Pre-history of Florida will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday.  A flint knapping competition and on-going pre-historic skills demonstrations take place all weekend.  In addition to the knap-in event, vendors will offer reproduction stone tools, raw stone, knapping tools, unique crafts and food for sale.
Visitors can enjoy the knap‐in, visit the Silver River Museum, hike or bike the trails of the state park, or canoe and kayak on the pristine Silver River.  $5.00 Admission per person (kids under six and active U.S. military personnel admitted free).  Free state park entry and parking.
