Oak Barrel Staves

Just found some Oak maybe Hickory barrel staves, not very long.  Thinking three piece take-down any good ideas???

how long are they ??
and how are they cut (quarter sawn, flat sawn) ??

If they are whiskey barrels they are white oak. The coopers use really good wood for these barrels so I don't doubt good bow wood in the barrels. You might even be able to make spliced billets for a bow.
