Dye for swade handle

I have some old swade that I have been using for bow handle wrap. I would like to dye the next handle to a red or black. Any suggestions on what I can use to change the color?
Thanks ahead.

I have been using Ritt dye.( Found another type that has more colors and it works well but can't remember the name.

Whenever I dyed suede or buckskin RED - no matter what kind of dye - it bleeded badly soon as it got wet. The sweat of my hand on a summer's day was good enough.
