Flatbows vs Warbows
« on: November 05, 2011, 02:16:03 am »
Hello again PA
I'm just wondering that the differences are between a flat bow (regular bow in my mind) and a warbow.  All I really know is that thier draw weight is really high :-[.

Thanks,
Brent

A warbow is just a different style of ELB (English longbow) e.g narrow, deep, long, straight, no change in cross section for the grip, no arrow shelf.
The cross section usually is D shaped with the belly rouded or squareish. Ideally made of Yew.

Few days ago I have made 2mm and 2,5 mm steel penetration test with my 125# flatbow and results were better than many (probably underaverage made) longbows of that draw weight. Doing exactly same damage on target but longbow is more comfortable for me. I can post results somewhere.
