Very nice bow but I have to agree with Eric. Hinge should be corrected. Osage is tough wood and if it is not taking any set there and bow is shooting good might just leave it alone.

Sorry guys, I have made lots and lots of bows, almost all osage of every configuration you can imagine, roller coaster, snaky, doglegged, propelled even a few with straight wood and a hing is a hinge.

With as many bows as I have made I still hinge one every now and then when I go from the long string to the short string too quickly. I cuss myself out every time this happens for getting in a hurry.

Looks good to me Yeti! How to disagree somewhat with a few here. Without an unbraced 'side' profile picture they're only guessing at a hinge. Not saying that it's not hinged, just that all the info needed to make that determination isn't provided.

Do you feel that area is hinged? How 'bout a unbraced 'side' profile shot?

Art you can see it is hinged because in the brace shot you see a slight hinge and in the full draw pic the hinge is more exagerated. I have seen worse survive just fine.

You know, at our age Steve, the ol' eye is the second thing that goes :(. You guys could be right though, but a pic of the belly rings in that area and an unbraced side shot would help to determine that for sure.

If his wood is well seasoned, I too would not expect that bow to cause Yeti any problems if that were a slight hinge simply because it is Osage ;D.

I had a good time shooting my bow yesterday and I hunted with it and that is all that matters to me.

Love the bow!  In all my years of collecting osage, I have yet to find a piece that looks like that.  Great find.

STAVE ENVY!!!!! 8)

Most of my character staves are curvy on one end and straight on the other. Not sure why that is.  Good luck on the next one.

Ok, y'all educate me some please, cause i've got some snakey staves (albeit a lot less snakey than this) i'm working on and i don't want to mess it up in tiller.  Yeti, to me you're bow doesn't look like the inner thirds are doing much work?  Is this a trick of the eye, or is it intended?  I can see myself totally screwing mine up due to inexperience and what i think it "should" look like in tiller.  Course i guess that'll learn me a lesson for the next one ;)  I may just have to wait until i can get back with Mr. Stoneberg to tiller them out :D

That being said, it is a beautiful bow and those curves are too sweet for words.  I agree snake skins would be awesome, just don't leave it lying around if you do >:D
