first point not from a slab
« on: October 24, 2011, 02:24:11 am »
this is my first non-slab point, made a antler billet and was trying to reduce to a preform, nocked some long flakes off and made this with a small hammer stone and finnished the edges with my horseshoe nail tool, Bub

it's a little thicker than I like but I think it'll hunt

nice point
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW WHAT A RIDE!!

Yes Sir,

Very Nice...

I'm still struggling going from Rock to Preform... and Notching... and thinning... and heat treating.

That's a good first point from scratch! Better than my first one .

Ok Bub - when you  comin to visit? We can work on those things together! I almost never use slab - usually work raw material brought in from lots of different folks.
