Whew...weee....she s coming together right at the end and finally balancing out after some tetor-totering. I finessed and worked her out inch by inch from 20 to 24". And she's pulling 40lbs@24".


 


After getting her out to 24" I just kept it braced and proceeded to shoot her in,and launched a couple dozens arrows, and she's holding steady and 1/8" positive tiller. She feels good.

Here's what she looked like immediatley after I unbraced it,and it maintains 3" of reflex after unstrung. And after some rest she returned to 3 5/8". Sweeeeeet.

 


Thanks Noel and Thad.....id say you guys admire my wood stash more than the bow..lol >:D

Here's a shot of it from the other side. It looks like a totally different bow....gotta love the twist,and kinks.

 

I've done video of it from both ways and its well balanced,timed limbs,and a fluid synchronization of draw. I can also feel its well balanced when I draw it in my hand.

Seeing how the weathers cleared and nice today I took her out for more shooting. Here's some of the finished front profile pics. She ended up weighing 13.5 ounces


 

 

Here's a shot of the top limb tip showing the branch knot and red oak overlay tips

 

Here's the bow braced.

 

So after another braced and shooting session she's still maintaining her position and im feeling good about it. It still maintains 3"of reflex immediatley after unstrung.  :D

Now I need to aquire some skins for her,so it might be awhile before she's all dressed up purtty. And now that I feel confident in her and can call her a bow ill say that this bow is being made for mom. She loved my last snakeskin osage so much she enthusiastically expressed wanting one. ;D

So it might be a few weeks before I post all the finished pics of her,and ill give this to my mom for xmas.

Welp...I finally got some skins for this one. I applied them on last night,and ill trim,descale,sand,and start rubbing her down with oil tonight....finished pics coming soon...my moms gonna love it ;D

Excellent build allong!!! You are truly great at what you do, I would have looked at that stave turned tucked tail and ran the other way! ;D It turned out great I look forward to the finish pictures ! I too was drooling over your wood :-\ :o (bow wood)! lol any way great job and thanks a bunch for taking the time to put this together I know it takes about as much time to take pictures and type things up for one of these as it does to build the bow  ;D
