Hog and Javelina Skulls

Here are a few shots of a boar's skull and a Javelina skull.
These were found skulls from the Freer area, killed a week or so before they were found,
and quite ripe...  :o

They were done using the process outlined by Osage Outlaw in his European Skull Mount.

Those look great.  They are some wicked looking skulls.  You did a terrific job on them.

Thank You Outlaw!  :)

These are the first Skulls that I've had the opportunity to take through the process.
I think that working with fresh skulls would be preferable to skulls that have laid out for some length of time.
My wife would definitely find it less offensive smell wise...  :o
And perhaps they would come out cleaner.

But all in all, I'm very pleased with your process Outlaw.

Fresh ones are definitely better to work with.  I would love to do some hog skulls.  A warthog would be fun too.  Small skulls are good to practice on.  Beaver skulls look awesome if you ever get the chance to get one.

I had no idea that javaline had teeth/tusks like that.  Wicked looking.  Both skulls look great, big tusks on the hog too.  Nice job, dpgratz
