Nice Pat.  I'm a real fan of the shorties, especially sinew backed.  Looking forward to the decorated bow!  Your method of tying the bow into reflex using a sinew tie, is the same that I do.  It just makes sense.  Great job so far.  I intend to be at the Classic this next year and will certainly bring my shorties!

Pat I use rachet straps to add my reflex. I 've found the 2 or 3 inchs of reflex I'll keep and inch of reflex. But that is short plus as you know your sinew will add some also. It should be a fast shooter.

Nice Pat.  I'm glad you're tillering that one.  Short reflexed bows are a challenge for me, easy to miss weight.   I'm anxious to see how you finish her up, should be a nice bow.

Pat have you got a weight you're shooting for or is it too early to tell?

Lane, I'm looking for about 50#@26" but we'll see!  ::)
MWirwicki, I'll have this bow at the Classic too. I have to show Gary Davis what I did with it.  ;D
Thanks everyone. I've wanted to build one of these short sinew backed osages for a while and when Gary gave the stave to me it was my first thought.

Pat
Good start there !
It amazes me how folks seem to come up with similar processes looks just like the way Gary does them !
Matt and Old Timber plan on dragging this beat up old body of mine to the classic so we shall meet then if the good Lord is willing !
Take care

Guy...ill make sure matt n Marty drag ya down there >:D

I should be there myself if all works out.

Pat...my vote is for copperheads if she pans out to be a great lil bow.  :)....I got a copperhead waiting to go on a D/R sinewed Osage shorty if all goes well. A perfect skin n wood combo IMHO

Blackhawk, I just happen to have a set of copperheads that Cipriano sent me not long ago.  ;D
Guy, looking forward to meeting you at the Classic. I'll have this bow with me to show Gary. Maybe he'll give me another stave.  ;)

Ingenious using the sinew loop!
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

Looking good!  The sinew loop is genius.  As usual, the simplest solution is the best solution.  Thanks for sharing that tip!   Josh
