antler tools

Why how I have missed the forum....just scored some elk antlers at a local thrift shop. 8 bucks for the set. Trying to figure what I can get out of them. Knife handles, buttons but most importantly knapping tools. Anybody post pics of your antler tools so I can figure where to cut what and what to make. Thanks.

There have been several posts in the past several weeks w/ tools.  Look through the past posts and you should have some luck.  Great deal on the antlers, good job/find.

Lucky I guess. They were on a shelf well above eye level. Goes to show you will never know what you might find. I'm still not that great at knapping but I cant seem to stop. I got a few ugly points that I'm pretty confident would take an animal but I am hungry for these works of art that everyone produces.

Yup, that was one of the pictures I was talking about.  How does the dogwood work?  I've got some Iron wood, Blue Beech, that I've cut for handles, and Iwas thinking about using a piece for a indirect flaking hammer.  Is that what they are for?  Thanks for a reply, dpgratz
