So, yesterday my first and only 2.5 year old oak board bow raised a big splinter on the belly. Fortunately I had a hickory stave in the garage. So today started with
git 'er done!
Then progressed to
haste makes waste
and ended with
chop your own wood and it will warm you twice.
So now I not only dont have a bow, I dont have a stave in the garage either. I think my warped sense of humor jinxed me - I named it "kindling II" before I started.

Looks like I'll be using the old bear recurve after all. Just seems like going backwards, but at least I can hunt. Take my time, make a new bow this winter.
