it is an arrow or a spear? ,my 2500 grain monster
« on: October 02, 2011, 01:07:05 am »
first off, i am completely serious, i am planning on useing this thing once i make a long enough warbow, its 4ft long, weighs about 2500 grains(not exactly sure, my scale bottomed out >:D )
it has my hand forged bodkin on it, i figured a over sized head for an over sized arrow, it is 3/4 across near the head and about 1/2 at the nock,i think it is arrow wood, but not completely sure. the reason i made it this long is that i found long arrows much more accurate and fly better, also, for those of you who remember that black tupelo bow i made a video of, well,  tried pulling as far a s i can and it turns out my full draw is actually 37inches :o ( i was surprised too, but it may compress a little with heavier bows) the small strip next to the arrow is a little bigger than 6 inches
thanks
noel
(let the comments saying it is too big commence ;) )
here is me drawing it back so you know i wasn't exaggerating

37" draw with a 48" arrow, and I thought that my arrows were long (26" draw with 30" arrows). :o  You've got to post a vid of yourself shooting that monster arrow.

well.... it is now MIA and about 50 feet up, a recipe for disaster. i was shooting it and the wind carried it over some trees in my yard and i heard a thud, but it never came down, even im worried, a 1/3 lb 4ft arrow tipped with a bodkin is something that could do serious damage falling from a tree

my dad actually found it while i was at school, it may be reachable with a pole saw and tall ladder, it penetrated a black cherry branch that was 1-1/2 in thick, and had 1 inch sticking out the front
