Hickorybow,my best so far.

As the topic says,its a hickory flatbow 70"ntn 53# @28" with a long handle inspired by ryons and tbbs andamanbows  ;)
it is 1 5/8 at the fades with heattreated belly and it shoots really good  :)




And unstrung directly after 50 or so arrows

I havent put a finish on it yet as i think the tips can be thinned some more,but im pretty happy with it.

That is a good looking bow!  Hickory is great stuff.  Is there anything to compare with shooting a bow that you built yourself?!!

@ Dazv yeah i noticed that it is a bit stiff,it is more obvious than before i shot those 50 arrows, i didnt finish it just to see how it would develop, i will shoot it some more and fix what need fixing ;)

I Argee, it could be hit just a bit almost exactly 2 3rds down the upper limb, even if just with a couple swipes of 150 grit to bring er home.  :laugh: Great bow. Beautiful tips. I love the front profile.

Thanks guys,its always nice to get some feedback and constructive critizism or praise  :)
@ Dazv im working on a couple of bows atm a boo/hic thing and just layed out a ash ELB will see what i complete first  ::)
@MWirwicki It shoots great,the first off the hand bow i can really hit with.
The pic below is when i tuned the nock point;hit a bit high first raised it twice and hit dead on direct at 15 meters or so ;D
Will have to make new arrows tho,these are a bit too light .

Longer bows like this one are significantly easier to master.  I love shooting long bows.

Nice work.  I like it a lot.  If you haven't put on the finish yet, you can bake it a little longer in a car parked in the sunshine or something like that to make sure it is plenty cured out.  That will giv e you a chance to fine tune your tiller if necessary before laying up the finish.

Thanks again guys.
Its a proven design and pretty straightforward to make,shoots hard and draws smoth. Cant ask  for more.
@ JW_Halverson im in no hurry to put a finish on it,and its too cold here for the car treatment (4 degrees C as i write) i will let it dry in the dry winterair and shoot indoor until i get a good idea what finish to put on her,in the meantime i can tweak what i feel is needed
