take down bows
« on: September 15, 2011, 01:12:34 am »
here is my situation, i have two 40 inch osage bow billits.  i want to make a take down bow.  i see where you can buy these kits that have what looks like a 5 to 6 inch maybe 3/4 or 1 inch (o.d.) pipe with two appropriately sized brass sleeves.  can you tiller a bow using this setup.  any pros and cons by doing this?

Sure you can still tiller the bow you can just make the handle first thing the carry on as normal. Or rough out the two limbs and then put the handle together.
