 I had to brag on the quiver Steve made for me. I've always wanted one like this. The strips were a little too white so I stained it with Walnut Hull stain then did the green and red with leather dye and then dulled the colors down with more walnut stain. My cane and bambo arrows just look good in a quiver like this.

Steve's doing well with his basketry. Nice quiver. Confortable to wear during the hot weather especially!

 He is, Pat. I gave him a book on Cherokee baskets and Appalachian weaving. I can't wait to see what he makes next.

Sweet quiver Eddie, I always thought those basket quivers were cool too.  I don't know Steve, but he's doin' a dang good job.  Hope to see more, maybe a build along.

That looks great Eddie!  For those interested in basket quivers, I say don't waste time waiting to try.  If you do a google search for basket quiver build-a-long or such, a link comes up from another site that walks through the basics.  The most difficult part is starting and finishing the rim around the top.  Especially the finishing.  I thought it was going to be much harder than I originally suspected though.  Materials can be ordered online and aren't too expensive for basket making materials - reed.
I think the real fun of it is going to be in harvesting your own materials to weave with though.

on it for a sealer

Mullet that is a fine quiver, but mine or rather my daughters is prettier 8) Parnell made one for her in purple and white (my college colors). My daughter loves it and it is hanging on her wall. He does fine work.
