Successful rock breaking (pics)
« on: September 11, 2011, 12:27:48 am »
I spent some time outside today and was able to thin out a piece that I started on with TimO up in Joplin.  As I was working on thinning out the preform I hit a fossil and it broke in half  :o  Oh well so I made an arrowhead out of it instead.  As I was pushing the last notch I chunked off an ear  :-\  Still usable but frustrating.  So I picked up another head I had without notches and went to town.  These are what I ended up with.  I think they'll hunt!

I am seeing some good pressure flaking on the grey color stone. Looks like you are getting some flakes to travel to the center. Good job good save.
