Notcher/Finish Flaker

Well I finally got around to makin me a horseshoe nail notcher and man was I pleased! After using one of Shannons (SAWFILER) at the IBO Classic a while back, I knew I needed to make one if I was going to try to finish out points better. Heres some pics of how it turned out. Thanks Shannon!  :)

hmm...looks like I got another project.  Gonna have to cifer that one out.  What holds the nail from slipping up the handle?  Just head diameter?  Sweet points!!

Bowartist, an 11/32 cedar arrow is inserted in the brass nipple an hold the nail in place, I made the an gave those to Shannon. Here's the ingredients  1/4"x   4" brass nipple , 1/4" female air hose barb, and a 1/4" brass cap' #5 horse shoenail an a pc of 11/32 dowel. Run ya about $12.00 for the parts if ya have nail  an arrow. Slip the right size pc of hose on over the nipple an have anice soft handle. ;D ;D ;D  Bob

Thanks for the kind words folks! Paul, thank you you but Im not sure about that..I still have ALOT to learn. Anyway, I took some pics of it broken down. Ingredients were just like Bob said but I used 3/8" stuff and 1/2" dowel. I had to cut some strips of 1/4" hose to get the nail to fit tight. Hope it helps!  :) :) :)

thank you sir for the breakdown now i know what i need i try to notch with my ishi stick and i usually end up knocking off the corner,  i did take a finish nail and slip in in my ishi and it worked pretty good gave the point to my mom before i thought of getting a picture though.
