It's about profit margins, not quality now adays.  If I ever need to buy another drawknife, it will be from an antique store, not a catalogue.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Way sweet and brings back memories.
I wish I could have gotten my Granddad's draw knives.  He and I made many a martin nest and pole with them.  I skinned lots of pine bark off poles!  I did manage to save the wooden tool chest (emptied) he and I built.
