Which one is best for bamboo bows?
« on: August 29, 2011, 08:16:35 pm »
I'm looking at this site for bamboo.  They have a different "Horizontal" than I have ever seen.  Both look vertical.  I know I need vertical and I figure than I'm looking for their "horizontal" which is caleld vertical at my local flooring place.  Their vertical looks interesting also but I don't know if it's ok to have the lamination seams oriented that way for a bow?

Martin archery uses bamboo like that in there bamboo viper and bamboo venom series bows.  I bought one for my step dad a  few years back and they use the natural not carbonized.  I use the other type.

Bamboo backed, or all bamboo? On backed bows the "grain" runs with the length and the nodes are perpindicular to the bow's length.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

I know for bamboo backing what I need.  It's not this product.  For an all bamboo bow which of these is best.  I live WAY away from any suppliers so it's not a matter of picking up one and finding out.  I have to pay for shipping that runs 2X the cost of a single board. OR buy a whole box.

So I'm looking for the best bamboo product for CORES AND BELLIES.  Not backing.

Thanks,
Scott
