Fellas,
Thought I'd give a sapling bow a go for a change of pace. This sapling was cut about 10 years ago and it (+ 2 others) were put aside for use as cloths closet rods in a friends log home.....they didn't get used so......
The bow is 62" ntn, draws 45 @ 26" (just about 50# @ 28) I did not change the wood at all, One end has some deflex the other was straight but a little twist. I choose not heat anything and just tillered around the issues. The sapling was only 1-1/4" in dia. the finnished bow is 1" wide to mid limb and round tapered to 1/2" knocks. The pin knocks are 2" long (dont know why, but they can be cut off). bow shoots well and is well mannered and smooth.
It's the first stave bow so feel free to let me know what ya think. Allmost forgot.....the little sapling has 23 growth rings in the 1-1/4" dia.
