Went fishing with my buddy Bob and my son Dan aka SkinneyD.
Bob's 65" sturgeon.Caught and released (a must) The sturgeon is the good looking one. :laugh:

Super cool, many congrats on that catch....that fish sure would have looked nice on a Yew stave though  ;D  I know, rules is rules...

 Sweet! We have them jumping into boats down here and smacking people in the face. We can't keep them either.

The skins are nice, but the meat is out of this world!  Sturgeon is some of the best stuff out there!  Glad you put 'er back so there will be more of 'em. 

Didja catch her from shore?

Bob did catch it from shore.Muddy shore it was a bit of a gong show bringing her in.JW we haven't been able to keep sturgeon for probaly 10 years.But I do agree with you smoked or baked is some good eating.Lee I have a yew stave and the thought crossed my mind  >:D

That fish probably wouldn't have missed a two inch wide strip of skin...   
Then slather it up with neosporin and send it on its way.

Here's another one SkinneyD holding a 54" I didn't get a pic of my 52"
We also caught a mess of 36''ers all season It's bin a hoot but bow season starts in about 3 weeks

They are a great fighter lotsa power. I had a 36"er that thought he was flipper and did about a 6' dance across the water.never a dull moment.
