'Tree ID pics added' flatbow for a friend

Hello everyone!
I made this bow for a friend/colleague. At her last visite i let her shoot with one of my bows, and she loved it right away! So i decided to make her a bow from a stave i cut at a hike, last fall..I dont know what kind of wood it is, there were no leaves on it at that time..I do know it had a smooth bark, and it was kinda hard taking it off..it had a very vibery texture, lots of threads..and after a day the cambium had a dark orange colour..
anyway its 59" ntn and pulls about 40" at 26"..2"wide at fades, tapering to 1/2 at the nocks. Ive put some kind of dark woodstain on it, and sanded the part between the fades and mid limb, to get that colour fading
kinda like it..
pics.

Very nice work...it almost appears to be Hickory from the looks of it but I don't know if you have hickory near you. I like the dye job also, good idea to sand away some for a transition.

Excellent work my friend! As long as it shoots nice, I wouldn't be worried about what kind of wood it is.

That is a very nice bow.
In the first picture the wood looks a lot like white oak but the photos showing the back up close looks more like ash.
My vote is for ash.

I am thinking it could be a beech tree? Whatever wood it is that sure is a nice bow.
