Cahokia cache
« on: July 23, 2011, 09:47:08 pm »
Had a fella order some small hunting points last week at Mojam, so I have been doing a bit every night this week, I needed 6 to finish them up so I got busy today. They all range from 63-71 grains. Most are 1 " wide and 1 1/2" long. The smaller black one at the bottom is a throw in extra.

I made the  Dovetail  after I got done with all that tedious pressure flaking....I had to do something to relieve some frustrations! ???

I think the man who ordered them will be mighty pleased with them. Very nice work.

iowabow, I started on them last Monday and would make 1 maybe 2 in the evening,(course I would break a couple also). These things are thin and need lots of support, they can be frustrating. I made 6 yesterday,so I guess I was getting it figured out?

A good way to learn to make a point type is to just make it over and over, and along the way you will learn that it has helped you to make other types. I know that doing these has really helped my edge work.

Thanks all.

Tim, that just cooler than hail ;). I love looking at piles of points like that. Been working on my own collection like that for next year. And yep you get good making the same thing over and over..
