couple of more today
« on: July 24, 2011, 06:50:17 pm »
I won a couple of low grade pcs in a raffle an decided today to see if I could get anything out of em. I knocked a spall off from this pc of mookite, I was suprized to even get a spall, the yellow orange in mookite is rust from all the iron ore in it. Looked like old rusty flaky metal in middle of pc any ways managed to get a point . The other pc had a 1 dollar price on it an I believe it is low grade raw flint ridge or a rough pc of burlington, both pcs are a little thick but razor sharp. I believe the mokite needs to be introduced to the American whitetail this fall. >:D >:D >:D Bob

Hey Mason, where you been hidin, Mookite comes from Austrila I believe. It worked real nice except where the fractures an iron ore deposist are, Pretty, fancy pants rock that I won in a raffle . Hope your stayin cool, 8) I mean temp wise. ;D ;D You sharing your rock with Dad? And don't let him get that rock beating fever thing going. I went to a little knapin last week an there was a 13 year old kid with the fever, Just kept hittin a rock as fast as he could go, had to laugh seen this before :o :o Lets see some points, Bob

Thanks for the info on the rock. Have not been hiding just been really busy this summer but things are starting to slow down so I have been knapping more. Dad's rock beating fever is slowly getting better and so is his knapping.
