Lyptus wood?
« on: July 26, 2011, 06:04:08 am »
Anyone ever worked with Lyptus?  I got enough to make 5 laminated bows with.  It's pretty straight grained wood, almost red like Ipe but not quite as dense.  I'm considering an ELB and a bamboo blended reflexed.  I broke my band saw blade so I'm out of action no matter what till the post man shows up.  It will be time to run out and stroke/sniff the wood between coverletters and resume' mailings (job searching).  Most likely I'll bite off more than I can chew, make a few mistakes and end up with 3 bows.
