That one will have you scratching your head. :-\  Is that ugly knot at the kink in the limb? Leave plenty of width around the knot and you may get it to bend there some.  Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

Wow your gonna give me nightmares tonight, that thing looks scary! Good luck with that swoopy knot thingy, got any ideas what you are gonna do their? Like Pat said keep her wide and hope for the best. ???

Better you than me.

I'd personally leave that area stiff and start benidng just outside it.  From the looks of that crack/bark inclusion/damaged area or whatever caused it, it appears to be running across the grain and I figure that will make it weak.

I'd also leave the handle square and unworked, so I could splice the good limb to something else in case something happens.
