Picture posting questions??
« on: July 09, 2011, 06:55:43 pm »
I finally made it to a high speed connection w/ about 10 pics I want to share, but it keeps telling me my file is too large.  Even when I try to post just one.  I'm in .jpg.  What's up.  DangIT!!  I won't be here long.  Thanks, dpgratz

Restrictions: 6 pictures per post, maximum total size 1200KB, maximum individual size 200KB...that's a small picture 200KB

If you get a photobucket account(free) you can store all your pics there plus set it up so it will resize them to 640x480mp.  Another method is to reset your camera for the lowest resolution and they will come out at 640x480mp.

Thanks Pat, I've heard of photobuket before, maybe I'll try that.  Probably can't download it from my home dial-up connection.  I'll try to post again later.  dpgratz

bowartist....the easiest way that I have found to re-size Photos that are already on my Computer...especially with your Dial-Up...would be to go to Outlook Express...or whatever Mail program you use...click on New Message.....click Inset Photo...the program should ask you if you want to re-size the Photo before you send...click Yes...and choose the medium...or Small choice...then send it to yourself...then you have small Photos that will work on this site....been doing this way for years...jmo

No...Open Paint... click Open in the Menu...choose your picture....click resize....change to about 20 percent...this should give you a Picture of about 200KB...if your pictures are already smaller than 3meg...you could probably go like 30 percent of the original

You should be able to resize the photos:

1) Open Windows Explorer.
2) Navigate to the directory where the photos live.
3) Right click on the photo in question and select "Edit".

This should open the photo in Paint or another photo editor that you have associated with photos.

4) Resize photo, if it is from a modern digital 10x or 12 mega pixel you will probably have to reduce it to 15% of its original size, make
take a little trial and error. If the photos are from the same camera and same resolution, you can reduce them all by the same %
once you find one that works.

Remember you can use the Undo button to back up a step.
Remember to change the File Name when you re-save the photo.
Make sure the new file (photo) is under 200k.

if you are using XP or Windows 7 you shouldn't have any trouble.
