this piece definitely had a serious pucker factor to it. raw Texas rock i received from cowboy . got it down to a half inch thick with the hammerstone and then went to the punch to finish up. one pass along the edge with a tine to remove deltas. 8 1/4" long, 2 3/8th" wide, .290" or 7.4mm thick. symmetry is off but im happy it stayed in one piece.

 8)  Great work.  I think I break those long blades on purpose because I can't stand the stress!

Nice work Jamie! 8)

I had that pucker factor going strong this morning on a 7" Dalton wannabe.....That factor soon left and turned into something else. :'(

How in the heck do you guys work that stuff raw?! :o  I can't do much of anything with it.
That is nice Jamie!  I would have had about three to four pieces after I got the basic shape. :P

Takes a lot of nerve to hit one that size. Looking good.  I can't wait to get a piece of flint that size to work on.

Awesome...I was with a friend walking the Ohio River banks in WV years ago and I walked past a 9 1/2 inch point that my buddy spotted. He had it looked at and was told it was a Turkey Tail point from Texas. It was a brown looking rock and was beautiful. The shape was exactly like your point except for the small notching near the base.

Well done Jamie!
