Tradebow.
« on: June 30, 2011, 10:03:32 pm »
Well, my first one took a dump on me.  Lifted a splinter where the riser was, picture  below.  So I started over with the same wood combination but decided to go with a bending handle.  I've made several of these bows, but this is my best so far, I think.  It's a bit overweight for the trade, but I've already brought it down quite a bit and it's shooting SUPER.  It's 67" and easily 60#, hick/ipe with buffallo tips.  Time to finish it up and put it in the mail, no time to spare!

Sad to see the first one splinter, but that bendy handle bow looks great. Love the Ipe/Hickory combo! Nicely done, and just in time too! ;D

I agree.  The tiller is excellent.  I like the wood combo too.  Looks cool.  Nice job.
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

Looks great Parnell!  Great tiller, and nice looking wood combo.  Just think, if the first one didn't lift a splinter, this one would probably not exist :)

I want one of those  ;D

Thanks Timo and everyone.  Timo, I gave your racquet handle wrap a go.  Turned out pretty good and it is a comfortable grip.  Everything gets better each time its done, right?!
I'll miss that one, but looking forward to it being received.

That looks great your recipient will love it! I am starting tillering on my first BBI and was curious how much set your bow took?
