sinew and things...
« on: July 18, 2011, 11:30:44 am »
Hello -

I'm interested in procuring some sinew, enough to back a 55" x 1.25" bow. Already prepared would be fantastic, but I can prepare myself (i know sort of how just never done it before thats all, too much noise for the neighbours;-) ) .

I've just used hide glue (a random ebay one) and found it works well enough with rawhide, so I'd also like to obtain some hide glue that is recommended by experienced bowyers rather than the stuff I got from ebay (although no problems with it yet, i'd just like to see the differences if any)..

Also i'm interested in staves of yew/osage or mulberry/black locust, as i'm finding it difficult to obtain materials like this here in the UK...Will consider very well matched billets if no yew presents long enough self stave...

Regards

v
