Tough Esopus Stem

Nice point! I'm a sucker for black points. In Texas we'd call it a Bulverde point. Very well done!

That came out good, Russ. I'm still beating around that stuff. Haven't quite figured out how to be consistant hitting it yet.

Thanx for the great comments!!!  Its the closest type of chert I can find in my area and I usually get one to 2 buckets...good enough for me and sometimes u find the most amazing pieces better then the one in the picture.  I found some that natives took blade cores off of...maybe I should have kept one to show u all next time!! Thanx again!

Thanks AncientArcher76. I thought that was the name of the point because I searched for Esopus and didn’t come up with anything about rocks, just that it’s the name of a river and town in Ulster County, New York.

Nice work! The only piece of Esopus I ever hit wound up having a big fossilized sea shell right in the middle of it.
