Little ash hunter 50# at 28"
« on: June 22, 2011, 04:15:06 am »
This is ash bow. 64" ntn, just a little wider than one inch, 20 mm thick. 385 grams physical weight, 6" brace height, 4/5" set, without heat treatment. Tiller could be better but this was a little tricky to tiller. Too short for my taste, this is bow for my friend, local blacksmith. On the photo it seems that I pulled it about 29" or a little more.

Very nice, I'm surprised it has so little set, I don't have much luck with Ash, maybe I'm unlucky, the wood is too young or maybe it's Sycamore.. some of these woods are V difficult to identify.
Was that from a sapling? It looks like it is.
Tiller looks great to me, and I do like to see a nice long draw.
