White ash 49" great plains style Shortbow completed
« on: June 13, 2011, 01:16:07 pm »
Hey all,
I've been really busy with school and stuff and added the finishing touches to my first shortbow. Its taken a LONG time as i did a little bit every week and i had to wait for a fishing scale for the finish tillering. I did things more professionally than my first bow and i'm pleased how it turned out despite the crappy paint job. The specs are White ash sapling 49" ttt 45lb at 25", based on great plains style 'double-curve' or 'gull-wing'. Acrylic paint job, leather handle wrap and 1.5" of set,bit to much for me.

A few pictures from sunny south africa

Ya, your pictures didn't show up. I like to upload mine on www.tinypic.com and then post the forum (or image) code and that works for me. Pretty fast and you don't have to register or nothing.

Siong,
What the heck's wrong with that bow?  Looks damned fine to me. Keep that deal about set in perspective, sir. Your pulling a 49" bow 25" and took a little set? I'll bet it is a deer killin fool I haven't even shot it. Very well done

Very sweet. I happen to like the "crappy" paint job.
