Free and open to the public.
Come enjoy a day celebrating the past at the historic Landmark Inn in beautiful downtown Castroville, Texas! Local are encouraged to bring your stone artifacts for identification and comment by archaeologists. There will be a mock dig for the kids and flint knapping demonstrations all day. At 11:00am Dr. Steve Tomka will give a talk on recent Paleo Indian findings in excavations at Brackenridge Park, followed by Dr. Thomas Hester at 1:30 pm , whose talk concerns the archaeological record of south Texas and the Medina River valley .
