How's my tiller?

This is my first ever tiller. I'm just finishing up with the long tillering step. How's it look? I need an extra pair of eyes (and someone's better experience) to help.

Do you have an unbraced photo?  That will help. But if its a straight profile then you got a ways to go yet on the long string and its barely bending. Also shorten up your long string to where there's just a teeny tiny bit of slack.

well the left limb looks stiffer to me

but you realy need to shorten that"long" string up
it only needsto be long enough to fit with a zero brace height  ;)

Oh, ok. I read somewhere (TBB1 maybe) that it had to be 2 feet longer. I just shortened it and will make it bend more. Thanks guys.

also keep in mind
you never want to pull it past its final target weight at any time during tillering ;)

take a new pic with the shorter long string and show us please  :)

Your 'long' string is about 5 miles too long. It shouldn't be more than the length of the unbraced bow.

DiGi I thought you were joking or either had left out some pic's. My first five or so bows caused me serious trouble getting the tillering off the ground. Then I realized what the guys were all saying about floor tillering was real important.
You simply cannot "tiller" something that ain't moving. When the limbs start to flex and bend the bow is coming alive and you can work with it.Until then it is just a piece of wood.And listen to sailordad about tillering weight.

You are absolutely right to go slow the first dozen or so. Keep the pic's coming these guys love to help with tiller ;D.

Needs to bend a little more on the right limb,and the left limb from the fads to the tips. :) I just couldn't resist. ;) :) :) Like others have said,shorten the tillering string and get it floor tillered where it is flexing some them move on to the tree. :)
