Got a couple osage staves I'm lookin to get rid of...
« on: May 31, 2011, 05:02:21 pm »

I got five I am looking to get rid of. Cut em around 2 weeks ago, sealed the ends and back with titebond 3, I left the sapwood on em all. The first 4 are from the same tree. The first 2 are 58" long, next two are 70" long, and one is 82" long and perfect for a warbow. You can see all the pictures and descriptions in detail HERE: http://s1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd470/toomanyknots/Staves%20for%20sale/ at a photobucket account I made specifically for these staves. The 58" guys are perfectly clean with no knots, as well as the 82" one. One of the 70" ones has two tiny knots around the middle of the stave, and the other 70" one has some knots on the side (where it wouldn't be part of the bow anyway) and some 10" from the end where you would have to weave around it a bit. That stave actually could get split again easily IF it wasn't for those knots on the side, as I think you would probably end up with one useable stave and on unusable stave, or worse two unusable staves. I got pictures of the knots next to a ruler so you can get an idea of what it would be like to work around em. Shoot me a PM if your interested or have any questions.

What ya looking for in exchange? So folks know. Too bad I don't have any more ERC to trade. Not technically. But I have another tree pegged that will be cut this winter when the sticky runny sap goes back down. It was the bigger of the two from the one I cut that grew hard against each other and has some nice clean staves too with plenty of heartwood to work with. Wood ya wanna save me a 58" er till winter?   I know...its a long shot. But prob all I got that you might want seeing how you have lots o whitewoods too like me available.

Woah, you guys are fast! :)

Hilbilly: Pm Sent.

Cacatch: Pm Sent.

Fishfinder: Pm Sent.

Alright, if you are sure you want a specific stave people, yall gotta call dibs on it so I can mark it off and nobody else will want  it. Ill call em stave 1 (58") stave  2  (58") stave 3 (70") stave 4 (70")  and stave 5 (82") as they are labeled in the photobucket account, so ill post and let yall know whats gone and whats still up for grabs. First come first serve I guess. Thanks yall for looking! And btw, I live in hamilton ohio outside cincinnati 45015 if anyone wants to know, regarding shipping.

@BlackhawK: I don't know, maybe. If I don't get rid of it currently, it might still be in my little wood room come winter, and if so you would be welcome to it. As far as trades, I might be open to specific Ps2 games that aren;t scratched all to crap, :). I don't know, just PM me.

I would love one of the 70" if ya still got one. I have a bunch of dried hickory staves.
