flipped the tips on a red oak and a maple today useing steam for the first time, was pretty impressed with it, for what that's worth ::), Bub
failure is an option, everyone fails, it's how you handle it that matters.

no jig Eric, steamed them for 1/2 hour and put one end on the floor and one end on the counter and applied pressher with my foot, then eyeballed them to get them about the same, Bub

Cool thanks bub, I have only used dry heat a couple of times and both times I had to keep them in the jig til they cooled down. may have to try steaming next time. :)

Ok I've tried dry heat and boiling. Can do those but ain't tried steam...what did you use,bubby/rich ?

I used a pot on the stove and some tin foil, that's all, Bub
rich if bad habits will get me to bend wood like you I'm all for it ;D
