Ipe! Please take it off my hands!
« on: May 03, 2011, 11:25:27 pm »
I've got 9 pieces of ipe that are 1 1/4" wide x 3/8" thick. Two pieces are a full 72" while five pieces are 66" and the remaining 2 are 64". There is also a full length solid piece that hasn't been cut. It is a full 72" 5/4 board that is 5 1/4" wide. I can't tell you how much it will cost to ship the big board but I can reasonably say that the bow blanks can probably be shipped almost anywhere in the country for about (PM or Email me for the price)  or so. I can't use ipe anymore because it gives me a nasty rash. I'll trade for staves of anything other than osage. I've got plenty of osage right now and I don't need any more. I would like some Buckthorn if you have reasonably straight staves of that species. Otherwise any other good bow making species would be welcome. I'd also be interested in hair-on hides of any species, or moose antler stems greater than 1 3/4" in diameter for at least 2"-4" length.

As far as furs go, just about anything. I mainly want it for covering some crossbow quivers I'm making. How big are your rawhides, and what kind are they? I can always use some rawhide if it's big enough for a drum head (usually about 22" across or more).

I also have some fur on hides to trade, mostly deer and coyote of various sizes with smaller pieces of elk. Let me know if you are interested.

I've got some freshly split elderberry, ash, eucalyptus, california sycamore, and I may have some birch staves soon as well. Lemme know if any of these strike your fancy.

I've got a large hickory split, should be good for 3 bows.
