Johnston's First Bow
«

Gonna try and post pic's of my first successful bow.Don't know about the pic's but the bow goes like this...Red oak flat bow w/shelf. From a board, 62" ttt and 47# @25". I just started building 5 weeks ago and my first two became firewood so I ain't good at the finishing yet. Bow casts a 500 gr arrow a bit past my 130 yd marker if I over draw a little. Been shot around 500-600 times and has put meat on the table already. It is dead quiet, no hand shock and the most accurate bow I own. Kinda happy with it.
Thanks for looking.

Howdy Johnston,
"Kinda happy with it." You should be happy with it, she's a beauty.
I sure would appreciate a pic of that handle, it looks interesting.
And, you said you made meat with 'er. What did you get?
Thanks for sharing,
Canoe

I agree. You should definitely be happy with that. I know I really like a bow if it's one I'd like to have or want to make one like it. I had both of those thoughts when looking at these pics. Nice work. Good job.

Awesome bow!! Keep making them just like that. Nothing llike a red oak board bow (in my opinion).

Yall I appreciate the fine comments. Somehow in trying to put correct pic's on my other post I screwed this one up too. Guess I got more to learn than just bows.
Canoe, man, I tried but could not post the handle pics.
Rich thanks for the advice. It never occurred to me that anyone would want it but I guess you never know.
Sure glad I got these first pictures over with. At least now you guys know I'm trying.
