arrowhead hunt this morning

Here is the haul for the morning; center of flint blade, flint flake, fossil, and stone with snake skin on it.

I was told that the rock might have a starfish like pattern because it has a five sided pattern.

top left looks like a gun flint?

  I think your right it is a gun flint. I've knapped a few ,they were knapped with beveled edges so it could be turned around when needed.

I have several arrowhead bodies that look like that.  I guess it could be for a flintlock gun although the material looks to be too grainy to throw a spark. I would have a flintlock user to look at it. My flintknapping instructor makes flints for guns and they are made with more bulk so the hammer does break or crush the flint.  He also makes them out of a darker flint much like english flint. JMO

I know years ago when I started looking for arrowheads the guy that was teaching would tell me that my finds "can be anything you want it to be" and then he would laugh.

the fossil at the bottom is a plant, or tube sponge, the one with the pattern is coral.
