I once cut a piece of chokecherry. I immediately roughed it out and floor tillered it. Then clamped it to a board for a month. No warping. No checking.

Hey NTProf I assume you sealed it before you clamped it to the board for a month?  Trying to decide just how much "bow making stuff" I'll need to take along this weekend (3 days)  Thanks!

Oh, I also have a tape measure in there...I just hate not having whatever I might need on hand.  Probably should toss in a jug of Elmers glue for sealing the ends of stuff on longer road trips too.
