skin for a bow
« on: April 29, 2011, 12:21:26 am »
My brother gave me this as a present 31" from tip to tip and it is on a 6" board got plenty of skin on it t o make it work. i am planning on getting another one close to the same size to put on a 68" t2t hickory long bow.trying for about 55# will be 1.75 or better wide and going for the 28-29"draw. the taper from the fades go out 9 inches and then taper to 3/4" right now but can thin this out in the tiller. also planning on putting some sort of osage/maple overlay on the tips for looks. goingt o wrap the handle in cordage and using linseed oil for  afinish most of this i have given a lot of thought to as you can tell but we will see.
